Privacy and MyFamilyMe

Last updated: September 7, 2026

MyFamilyMe provides genealogy tools for viewing and managing family history, working with GEDCOM files, creating reports and posters, receiving genealogy reminders and using optional AI features. This Privacy Policy applies to the MyFamilyMe apps, web tools and related services operated through myfamily.rs.

Products covered by this policy include:
  • MyFamilyMe family-tree and reminder app;
  • MyFamilyMe AI & Poster;
  • MyFamilyMe Reports;
  • MyFamilyMe GEDCOM Converter;
  • MyFamilyMe GEDCOM Reminder;
  • MyFamilyMe Poster Designer and related Family Generations poster features;
  • other MyFamilyMe genealogy tools that link to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we may process

The information processed depends on the app or feature you choose to use. A product does not necessarily process every category listed below.

  • Email address. Some MyFamilyMe products may use an email address for license activation, entitlement verification, access support or restoring access associated with a purchase or manually issued license.
  • Purchase information. Android products that offer paid access may process the purchased product, purchase status, purchase token or other technical purchase-verification information supplied through Google Play. MyFamilyMe does not receive or store your payment-card number.
  • Internal client or device-related identifiers. Some products create a random internal client identifier used for license, entitlement, purchase verification, restoration and fraud-prevention purposes. This identifier is not intended to identify you directly.
  • Genealogy and GEDCOM information. Depending on the product, you may choose to open or import names, family relationships, dates, places, notes and other family-tree information.
  • Files and photographs. Some tools allow you to select GEDCOM, ZIP, image or other supported files. Where a feature is designed to work locally, the selected genealogy content remains on the device or in the browser and is not uploaded to a conversion server.
  • AI prompts and relevant genealogy context. Only when you actively use an AI feature, the text of your request and the portion of genealogy information needed to answer it may be processed through the MyFamilyMe server and an AI service provider acting on our behalf.
  • Basic technical information. Web services may generate standard server information such as request time, app/browser type and security or diagnostic logs.

2. How information is used

We use information only as needed to provide, protect and maintain the feature or product the user chooses to use. This may include:

  • opening, displaying and processing genealogy and GEDCOM data;
  • creating reports, reminders, family-tree views and printable posters;
  • converting supported genealogy files into other formats;
  • generating genealogy-related AI responses when the user explicitly requests an AI feature;
  • verifying licenses, Google Play purchases and product entitlements;
  • restoring previously purchased access;
  • preventing duplicate, unauthorized or abusive use of licenses and purchases;
  • security, troubleshooting and service operation.

3. Product-specific processing

MyFamilyMe

The main MyFamilyMe app is designed for family-tree viewing and genealogy reminders. Family information used for these features is primarily processed on the user's device, subject to any optional feature the user explicitly activates.

MyFamilyMe AI & Poster

AI features are optional. When you start an AI request, the prompt and relevant genealogy context required for that request may be sent over HTTPS through MyFamilyMe services to an AI service provider acting on our behalf. Genealogy data is not sent for AI processing when you do not use an AI feature. Poster creation may process family-tree data and selected images needed to render the requested poster.

MyFamilyMe Reports

Reports processes genealogy information to generate the report selected by the user. License and Google Play purchase checks may transmit email address, purchase information and an internal client identifier as applicable. Genealogy content is not used for advertising.

MyFamilyMe GEDCOM Converter

GEDCOM Converter converts supported genealogy files into formats such as CSV, XLSX, JSON, XML or HTML. Genealogy conversion is designed to occur locally in the app or browser. License and Google Play purchase checks may transmit email address, purchase information and an internal client identifier, but the genealogy file itself is not sent to a conversion server for ordinary conversion.

MyFamilyMe GEDCOM Reminder

GEDCOM Reminder uses genealogy information selected or imported by the user to create reminders such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries and memorial dates. Genealogy data used for reminder calculation is intended to be processed locally. License or purchase verification may use the limited entitlement information described above.

Poster Designer and Family Generations

Poster Designer and Family Generations features use family-tree data selected by the user to create printable genealogy outputs. Depending on the selected workflow, this information may remain in local browser storage or be processed by a MyFamilyMe feature explicitly requested by the user.

4. Google Play and payments

Digital purchases made in an Android app are processed by Google Play under Google's own terms and privacy practices. MyFamilyMe may receive only the information needed to verify a purchase, activate or restore the correct entitlement and prevent reuse of the same transaction. MyFamilyMe does not receive your full payment-card details.

5. Service providers and data sharing

MyFamilyMe does not sell personal information and does not use genealogy data for targeted advertising. We may use service providers that process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide a requested feature, operate infrastructure, process an AI request, verify a Google Play purchase, maintain security or comply with law. Such providers are required to process information for the relevant service purpose rather than for independent advertising purposes.

6. Data security

MyFamilyMe web services use HTTPS for data transmitted between the app or browser and our servers. We also use server-side purchase and entitlement verification and other reasonable technical measures appropriate to the service. No online system can be guaranteed to be completely risk-free.

7. Storage and retention

Data stored locally remains on the device or in browser storage until it is removed by the user, the app data is cleared or the application is uninstalled, depending on the product.

Server-side information associated with an email address, access code, internal client identifier, entitlement, purchase verification, AI credits or security records may be retained for as long as needed to provide or restore the service, maintain security, prevent fraud and satisfy legal or accounting obligations.

8. Data deletion requests

MyFamilyMe apps do not require users to create a traditional MyFamilyMe account. If a MyFamilyMe product has stored server-side information connected to your email address, access code, client identifier, entitlement or purchase verification, you may request deletion of eligible data.

In your request, identify the MyFamilyMe product concerned and provide only the information reasonably needed to locate the relevant record, such as the email address or access code used for that product. Do not send passwords, Google Play purchase tokens or payment-card information by email.

Some minimal transaction, security or legal records may need to be retained where required for accounting, fraud-prevention, security or legal compliance.

9. Information about relatives and minors

Genealogy files may contain information about relatives, including living people or minors. The user who enters, imports, stores, exports or shares such information is responsible for ensuring that they have the appropriate right or permission to do so where required. MyFamilyMe apps are not specifically directed to children as their target audience.

10. Advertising and analytics

MyFamilyMe genealogy data is not sold or used for targeted advertising. Basic website analytics may record page views, approximate usage, device type and referral information. These analytics are not intended to store genealogy content or identify individual family-tree members.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when MyFamilyMe products, legal requirements or data-processing practices change. The latest update date will be shown at the top of this page.
