About MyFamilyMe - User Guide

This guide explains how to use the About MyFamilyMe Android app.

GEDCOM editor

  1. On the opening screen, open the GEDCOM editor and select a .ged file.
  2. Wait for the file and its statistics to load. Edit the GEDCOM text if needed.
  3. Tap Save changes. A read-only file provider may prevent saving.

Earn credits

  1. Open MyFamilyMe Credits, then Earn Credits.
  2. Watch one rewarded ad to completion to receive one credit.
  3. Repeat when you want more credits. The app shows your current balance.

The balance is stored on this phone. An incomplete ad adds no credit.

Create a reward code

  1. Open Use Credits and choose a MyFamilyMe product.
  2. Choose a quantity. Each question or day costs 10 credits; the total price is displayed.
  3. Tap Create Code, confirm, and wait for the server to confirm issuance.
  4. Copy the RW- code and enter it in the chosen product. Each purchase creates a separate code.

If issuance is interrupted, return to Use Credits and retry the pending request to recover the same code.

Find and copy your codes

My Credits and Use Credits show codes remembered on this phone and recovered from issuance history. Each code is checked against the code registry.

  • Active: value remains; each code has its own Copy button.
  • Used or expired: the code exists but has no value remaining.
  • Inactive: the code was not found.
  • Unverified: checking could not finish, for example because the network is unavailable.

A failed check does not delete a remembered code.
